There is no such thing as the price

The single most useful fact about this market is that the same product is not one price. Across every product that at least ten tracked panels sell, here is how far the cheapest price we can see sits below the middle of the market.

Each panel counts once per product, at its own cheapest listing. Platforms with fewer than five widely sold products are left out.

The spread is widest on Twitter, where the cheapest tracked price is 81% below the median across 36 products, and narrowest on Website at 54%. A narrow spread is not a worse market; it is a market where the providers behind the panels are the same few, so there is less to find and less to lose.

What the extras actually cost

Refill windows, country targeting and quality words are where panel margin usually hides. Each figure below is the median across matched pairs - the same product with and without the dimension - so it says what the market charges for the dimension, not that expensive products are expensive.

+54%

A refill guarantee

Median across 332 matched pairs: the same product with a refill window against the same product without one.

+134%

A named country

Median across 808 matched pairs: the same product targeted at one country against the worldwide version.

+50%

A quality word

Median across 451 matched pairs: the same product sold as real, HQ or premium against the plain one.

A twentieth of what panels list is not for sale

Panels do not delete a service they stopped supplying. They price it at zero, or at a number nobody could pay, and leave it on the list.

At the last crawl 139,979 listings across the tracked panels carried a current price. 484 of them (0.3%) were not prices at all - zero, or figures in the thousands of dollars per 1,000 units - and every comparison on this site drops them before anything is compared. Anyone reading a panel's list by hand, or scraping it into a spreadsheet, is reading those rows as if they were offers.

This is the quiet reason a hand-made price comparison goes wrong. The cheapest row in a scraped list is usually not the cheapest supplier; it is a service that was switched off.

What to do with this

Three checks that cost nothing.

Check the products you sell most, not the ones with the widest spread. A 90% spread on a product you sell twice a month is a curiosity. A 20% spread on your best seller is your year.

Compare like with like. Half the “bargains” in this market are a different product: no refill where you promise one, worldwide where you promise a country, a dormant listing at a fake price.

Check your own list against these numbers. That is what the free scan does: it reads the service list your panel already publishes, matches it to these 25,661 products, and tells you which of your services you sell at or below what they cost to buy.

Buy any of these at the price this page measures

PanelHawk is now a panel. The same reading that produced the figures above decides what we charge: every six hours we read these panels' public price lists and buy your order from whichever of them is cheapest that day, at a fixed 20% above what we pay. No account needed to look.
